Biotech for closer ties (MALAYSIA & JAPAN)

TOKYO: Bio-technology will be the basis of a new era of cooperation between Malaysia and Japan, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abullah Ahmad Badawi.

He said his Japanese counterpart Junichiro Koizumi has agreed the two countries must work together on this sector, especially on bio-fuel, in the face of rising world oil prices.

Speaking to reporters after meeting Koizumi at the latter’s office here yesterday, Abdullah said the two agreed there was an urgent need for an alternative fuel, and that bio-diesel was the most effective option.

Malaysia was already talking with two Japanese companies on this matter, Abdullah told Koizumi.

“I also told him that the collaboration on bio-technology must not be confined to only bio-fuel but be expanded to cover a whole spectrum – from food production to pharmaceuticals and cosmetics,” the Malaysian leader said, adding that Koizumi agreed with him.

Abdullah said there had been three eras of collaboration between Malaysia and Japan in the past 40 years.

“I see bio-technology as the next opportunity for our two countries to work together,” he said.

However, Abdullah assured Koizumi that the special preference given to bio-technology would not be at the expense of existing sectors such as manufacturing and ICT.

Koizumi in turn informed Abdullah that the Japan-Malaysia Economic Partnership Agreement, commonly referred to as a free trade agreement, had been passed by the Japanese Parliament and would take effect once it had been ratified.

“I reminded him that the agreement required Japan to set up a skills training centre for automotive industry workers as well as programmes to help improve the Malaysian automotive industry.

On May 25 last year, the two prime ministers signed the agreement designed to eliminate tariffs on US$27bil (RM97.2bil) worth of goods, and liberalise some trade in services.

Malaysia, the largest passenger car market in Southeast Asia, agreed to remove tariffs on unassembled automobile parts imported and assembled locally by Japanese automakers.

It will also remove tariffs on vehicles that do not compete with Malaysian models. In return, the Japanese government will open its tightly controlled agriculture sector.

Good moved, I think the Japanese is already seeking for alternative power and better for environment fuel since long time ago. Due to recent oil price increased, these Biotech oil has become reasonable to be list in as main sources soon. Now, Palm oil from Malaysia PLUS Technologies from Japan, they had found a right Partners.

Weng Leong,
Just share with you some information rgds the palm oil bio diesel. A few years back there is a Taman Song Choon old man who discovered to use palm oil to refine to produce 2T & 4T oil. He get a lot of prize & recognition. Even praise by Tun Dr. Mahathir. Then he mass produce the oils & give name 'Super' Oil. His family is still living near to us Taman Song Choon. But after in market for 1 years, the problem come up. Many car facing the engine crack issues. Even the old man himself have a Toyota Camry also face the same issues. The old man want to accuse Toyota for design fault in the engine. Toyota is challenging back they will send the engine to Japan lab for analysis. If it is proven that it is not design fault but the oil problem, they will sue the old man. Then suddenly the old man disappeared & keep quiet. All the product vanish in the market in just a short while. But there is a lot victim already that using their 'super' oil. Although there is no court cases, but the old man have make the bad name already. Actually the reliability test that he carry out is not enough to justrify for this technology. The oil is good for normal situation But not extreme condition. Now do you know what the old man is doing, only do the oil that use on the amber table..

About the Old man Oil story, yeah I remember some years ago there was an Oil so-called "SUPER". At that time some of my friends were used it and recommendated me too.

They said it was a Engine POWER-UP additive, can increased your car performance up to Some percentage (maybe around 20%?? can't remember it).

At that time, I told them please don't use it because I believed the Automaker has already done a lot of research and development on Engine Power-up performance works and the engine was designed only to use normal type of Petrol for durability usage (Only can withstand a limited explosion pressure in Combustion chamber structure and material, due to COST of material and weight of Engine)

Therefore, I had explained to them that please don't use it, because it might be caused you problems later.

Furthermore, it will cost you more besides the petrol price. Why spent more?

Some of them stope and some still continued using it. But I didn't know it caused Engine crack problem after a year. Wah! I think this old make small money at the beginning but finally his good Name was GONE and really pitty him.

Conclusion is DON'T BELIEVED or USED additive products on the market which is not recommended by OEM, car performance will not change much unless you change a better engine on your car.

Back to the TOPIC, regarding the new Palm Oil based BIODIESEL case, I think we need the Japanese Automaker to support it if not the market might not be encouraged. Don't you think so?

Think about WIN-WIN, Malaysia export Palm Oil and refined by Japanese Oil expert company and Use it on Japanese models (Petrol or Diesel two in one) in the WORLD, wah! Sound GOOD rights!? .......hei...hei..he..... We will be riched soon.
