The public could surf the Internet via laptops, mobile phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs) within the area.

"The initiative to extend the free wireless broadband Internet service will be continued at strategic areas in the state. Almost 90 per cent of the Land and District Offices, as well as local authorities' offices have such a service.

"The state government is in the final stages of launching the free wireless broadband Internet service for the whole of Ipoh by the end of the year.

"God willing, this September, people and visitors in Ipoh can surf the Internet for free in the city via long-range Wifi technology that we have dubbed as Wireless Perak @ Ipoh," he added.

Wow! Ipoh fellows can surf the internet for FREE by the end of the year.
Somemore it is WIRELESS broadband internet service too!!!, I think many Ipoh fellows will queueing to buy the laptops with WIFI system now. What a GREAT NEWS! Is this true? Maybe Mr. Loh can verify it!

I hope the installation works will be done on time as promised.
